Marine Wives

We are PROUD of our Marine husbands!

Yes, I used to be a Marine (for those who didn't know), but it's just not something I am proud of -because it was not of the Lord....Now, in all honesty, being the Marine wife and stay at home mom is far more challenging and much more rewarding than my time in the Marine Corps...the Lord has shown me a life truly worth living and I am proud to serve my Marine Husband.

Thank you for posting this, Heather! I had heard that they were making a new commercial with the Silent Drill Team, but I hadn't seen it. I LOVE it!!
And I am one of the many PROUD Marine wives!!! You're right...it's a challenging job, but very rewarding.

This was wonderful! Brought tears to my eyes, Heather!

and what you said about yourself...PRAISE GOD for your submission to the Holy Spirit's leading and the honorable place you chose in being a Godly wife and mother!!

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

While we may have slightly different views on being in the Marines, I can agree with you on being a Marine wife and a stay-at-home mome. It is a lot more challenging.

I really did enjoy (most) of my time in, and from time to time I find myself missing bing in. But over all, I am happy to be out and to be able to spend time with my family. I know I missed so many of the early years with Karah & Vincent, now I'm trying to make it up. I know the Lord will help me through this journey, and I'm glad that I've been able to know you because of it.

Okay, Heather. Here I am sitting in a puddle of tears! That was a beautiful commercial, thanks for posting it!
Matt says I'm a goober for crying over things like that, but I can't help but be proud of my hubby!
I miss you!

You beat me to the punch--I was planning to post this, too. :D It is such a privilege, like you said, to serve our Marine husbands... and to keep the home fires burning when they're not here.

Now don't wince, Heather--Ooh Rah! ;) :D

There's 2 minutes of my life I'll never have back. Thanks Heather. (Try a link to the trailer for Rambo next time - now THAT would make me "proud to be an American".)

Next topic: Why do they always have a bunch of 8th & I boots in these commercials instead of dudes who have actually been in longer than a year and a half? Discuss.

Heather I don't know why but your comment to my post made me cry! I really appreciate your caring and your *hug* from across the miles.
On another note, I can't imagine your being a marine. Another thought entirely.
Your posts reignite my flames for being a proud American. Thanks for sharing!

I found your blog the other day and I am glad I did! You have a beautiful family! We just got to Okianawa in June. We have 4 kids and another on the way. My hubby is in the Marines as well and is also going to the K country in a few weeks. This will be our 4th year of homeschooling and we couldn't enjoy it more! May God bless you and your family!

Hahahahaaaa....Sorry Bro Matt, here's to another 2 minutes you will never get back ;) You have to understand that while I have some major *ahem* issues with the organization, I have deep pride and respect for the Marines themselves (for the most part). In 29, I would cry every time a bus left or returned from the Sand Spot...or most any other place. I have more respect for them than any other service...because I KNOW the sacrifice. So, if showing my support and pride in them-mostyl my husband means having to be a bit of a "cheerleader" then so be it. I am proud of your family too-don't take my distaste for some of the issues in the organization for a distaste in the Marines themselves or their jobs. I have great pride in them.

Stinkin' Boots...that's all I have to say about that. They use them 'cause they still look "happy" HAHAHAHA ;)

And, Ash, sorry I can't help but wince and feel a bit sick to my stomach everytime I hear...*that* little whatever it is...I WILL NOT utter that ever again ;)

Rebekah :) I always wondered at how you could be so happy as a Marine...I really think I just joined against the Lord's will and suffered tremendously for it. Proud of *you* girl.

((((Kammie)))sooo are you finally gonna get one of these goin'? :) I am so excited to see pics and here what you all are up to! (((hugs)))to you and yours.

Sileena-I'm still prayin' for you!!((hug))

Chyrl- Welcome!!! You can call me if you like :) 633-4085

Heather, I agree with you about the unmentionable phrase. Sure I was a Marine, but I wasn't the rough & tough kind. I never felt right saying it ... :-S unless I'm talking about Marine stuff, and then I use it, but I don't SHOUT IT OUT :-)

And the Marine thing, it was a way of life. I really did enjoy it and had every intention of doing the full 20 from the start. Guess the Lord has different plans then we do. I'm not sorry though, and I am proud to be a Marine wife as well. :-)

I only vaguely remember you saying that you had been a Marine...or maybe I'm remembering another person I once knew. Either way, certainly hard to picture. (That's a compliment.)

And, off topic...would you forgive me? I've been reading you on my Bloglines feeder. Eeeek! I simply must remember to click into the real blog. You're one of my favorite reads. In fact, Fifi was just asking me the other day--of all my blog reads, who would I most like to meet. After much thought (because there are a lot of great ones with whom I think I'd be fairly like-minded) I said you.

(((((GB))))*blushing*, my friend, I have missed you! Oh how I would *love* to meet your family! I was just hoping my eccentricity (ha-that's what I like to call it) had not caused you to *run* ;). Thank you!! and please, continue to read on bloglines...I don't *need* a comment, just want to make sure your still *around* these humble parts :)
