PURPLE People

I know, another Anjolie story, but hey...I know the Grandparents enjoy them...I think ;)

For a while now Anjolie has been talking about purple people, and I thought she had just been referring to what someone was wearing. She might say while I am driving "Mommy, the purple man told me to stop jumping in class" or something to that affect so that I don't actually see the person she is talking about. I never put any thought at all into it. Well, as I was driving through the gate the other day Anjolie said "Mommy! that purple man waved back at me!".....now, the guard was in utilities...green utilities, but he happened to be a black man. So I said, " you mean black honey, that man is black, and we are white and some are brown and some kind of yellow...you know -like the song....(then I just could not hold back my laugh, to which she was very offended)...NOONE is purple honey" LOL

Just a note to say that the child knows her colors well...I have no idea why she chose purple vice brown...lol who knows what that little girl's logic is.

Too cute. I am having a slightly similar thing going on with Alayna. The two girls we have right now are black. If Alayna is hanging out with the 7 year old sometimes she'll just rest her hand on her arm and look at her. And then she'll rub her arm a little. It's so funny because by the look on her face I know she's trying to figure out something new!! She DOESN'T know her colors yet, and is just now working on verbalizing, so I don't think she would know how to ask or anything quite yet. It just fascinates me!!
Sorry for the long comment!! :)

I love long comments! I always get nervous at what Anjolie might do! She rubs my Grandma's arm like that...just discovering something new :)

Anjolie is so much fun! She has a cute and quirky view of life. Thanks for sharing her stories. I hope I get to meet her in person someday too! Lots of love...Karen

I absolutely love to hear your "Anjolie Stories" She sound like a great kid to be around. She reminds me alot of my middle son (is that a pattern with the middles). Full of energy and loads of funny things come from their little minds. We just have to remember to laugh about, in spite of their strong wills that we get to deal with. God gave them to us to keep us humble, and teach us things about ourselves.

Someday maybe we will actually meet in person. Who knows. It would be great.
